#256; Product Review - Dolly Wink Long Mascara

I use to adore having false dolly lashes until I gotten allergic to some eyelash glue and had a terrible infection that lasted for weeks. Having said that, I decided to bring out my old mascara and while rummaging through my stash, I found the Dolly Wink Long Mascara. The shelf life of an opened tube of mascara is about 3 months but being the very cheapskate person (Don't say me la, I bet a lot of other girls do it too), this mascara is very, very old.

In fact, I don't even have the packaging that it came in anymore. But I did remember that it was under the limited edition sets where the long mascara was bundled with a special edition Dolly Wink Liquid Liner. It was a present from Mumsy to me.

The Dolly Wink Long Mascara is packaged in a hot pink x purple and silver polka dot which is eye catching and will definitely stand out among all your other nondescript makeup products. I love how girly this is and because of the packaging, I can easily find it in my big makeup pouch.

The front body of the mascara features just one intricate lace pattern with the signature Dolly Wink Bow and font. The Dolly Wink Mascaras also comes in Volume and the newest range of products also features a Mascara base (If I am not wrong...)!

The mascara wand is a bristle like the normal mascara and you can see how there are so many tiny fibers sticking out from the bristles. Really good for lengthening but may also cause clumping, which you will see later on!

For the sake of this review, I only used mascara on my eyes so it would be much more visible for comparison purposes. Left side is the side where I used two coats of Dolly Wink Long Mascara and right side is my bare lashes without any product on it whatsoever.

The side with mascara is really obvious isn't it? The ends of the lashes are so much more obvious and defined and there is a perceptible curl to it. The lower lashes are also so much more obvious now. From barely noticeable lashes to longer and more voluminous lower lashes.

The closed eye view. Left side with mascara, right without. With the use of two coats of Dolly Wink Long mascara, there is a noticeable increase in the length of bare lashes and added volume. However, notice the clumps at the end.

As with all lengthening mascara, the Dolly Wink Long Mascara is no exception to clumping and worse of all, the clumps are hard to even out and remove so I gave up trying! Also, the many fibers may result in uneven application of the mascara. This is especially noticeable on the lower lashes.

With that in mind, here is my verdict of the mascara:

My verdict in a cute picture!
I'm not sure whether the other Dolly Wink Mascara are any good or if there is a new formula. So if you do try it out and you think I should give Dolly Wink Mascaras a second try, do leave me a comment below!
I hope you enjoy this review and I will be back with more soon! :D

Much Love,
Amanda Misaki Sea
