#296; Urban Decay Naked Palette

As promised, I will finally do a swatch and review on Urban Decay Naked Palette 1. Having just caved in and gotten my Naked Palette, I am constantly amaze at how friggin awesome the palette is and never once regretted my decision to get it!

Urban Decay Naked Palette 1 comes with a primer potion and this travel sized cutie is awesome to tote around. I will review this separately because it deserves a post on its own. For now, the main focus will be on the palette itself. Having a velvet cover with gold lettering embossed on the front just screamed "Tumblr and chic!". I really didn't know why I waited this long to lay my hands on it.

The palette comes with a small mirror which I find that I rarely use because I hardly lug my makeup along when I head out. In this palette are 12 gorgeous shades of neutral colors that goes so well together. It also comes with a Good Karma brush.

A close up of the palette, I only adjusted the lighting to match how the colors really look like in real life. From left to right in the first half of the palette, Virgin, Sin, Naked, Sidecar, Buck, Half Baked and Smog.

The rest of the shades are Darkhorse, Toasted, Hustle, Creep and Gunmetal.

Moving on to the swatches, I tested them on my "ahem-hairy" arms and each color you see is one single swab.

On the first row, Virgin is a sheer light white fine shimmer that is good as a base and highlight to make your eyes pop. Sin is a pink-champagne-ish brown shimmer that goes really well in the inner corner of your eyes to make your eyes look really nice. Out of all the shades, Naked was the one that really is "Naked". I can't get it to show up much of my lids, but it makes for a good eyeshadow base to layer on stronger and deeper colors. Sidecar is also a brown shimmer but the brown tones on this shade is even more obvious and is a nice wearable shades for everyday look. Buck comes across as a neutral and matte light brown which is something that every girl already has in their makeup stash. So no surprises there. Apparently, Half baked is an awesome shimmery gold and I often use this to accentuate my eyes but have yet to try the shade as its own. Smog... thrills me to bits. Smog is a rich brown that is truly friggin pigmented and has fine shimmers that causes little to no fall outs.

Second row, we have the Darkhorse which is really dark and goes well when filling in the creases of the eyelid to create a more 3D look. I often pair it with Smog. Toasted didn't particularly appeal to me because of the color. I was expecting it to be more cold tone but it turns out pretty warm and pigmented! Hustle is a lighter version of Darkhorse. Creep looks black but has fine shimmers that actually makes it look wearable while Gun Metal is a metallic grey that I have yet to use.

The brush that comes with the Naked Palette 1 is a single sided Good Karma brush with fine bristle. It does pick up a nice amount of eyeshadow on its own but I kinda prefer my ELF brush to do the trick when it comes to picking up the main colors for my lids. This brush though, does a good job with filling in the crease. The brush is also sturdy and pretty heavy.

This is the look that I often wear. On my lids are Naked as a base, Sin on the inner corners and as a highlight. Smog as the main color with Darkhorse in the creases. While Half Baked is at the top part of my lids to accentuate my eyes.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this look.

So shimmery and neutral, I like.

Overall, I really truly enjoyed having the Urban Decay Naked Palette 1 for its neutral and super wearable shades that goes from daily wear to special occasions to dark smokey look that really smolders. The colors are highly pigmented and goes on smoothly without any problem. I also love how the colors suit my slightly darker lids (whut?) and my warmer skin tone.

Will I try the Naked Palette 2?
- Probably not because the shades are pretty colder toned and I am not sure my darker lids would suit it.

Oh, on a side note, Naked Palette 3 is out!
And guess who is getting it? :p
Yes, Me!

Tell me if you have gotten the Naked Palette 1 or if you love the NP2 in the comment box below! I would love to hear about how this palette works for you~

Much love,
