#412; Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in Bumble & Donut

I was always on the fence about liquid lipstick ever since I tried out the Lime Crime Velvetines. So when Colourpop released their Ultra Matte Lip, I was slow to the uptake and didn't get any of the beautiful shades until just recently. But once I've tried them out, I can officially said that I am sold!

Even lipstick does not cut it out for me now. Because these are officially my favorite lip products for this season!

The Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip comes packaged in a clear tube showing the shades prominently and it is topped with a sleek sliver cap and thin band. The signature holographic logo and product name is featured prominently on the body of the tube. I think this is just so pretty to have in your makeup collection and I just want to get my hands on all the shades so I can have a whole pot of them!

The shades I gotten was Bumble and Donut.
I'm not sure why the bottom sticker is different ._.

Pictured first is Donut and below is Bumble.
The applicator is a doe foot applicator that makes it extremely easy to control. I like the applicator because it can be angled to reach the inner corner of your lips and the wider part evenly applies the product. Then again, most liquid lipstick actually come with a doe foot applicator.

When swatched, they are of a good consistency and one swipe will definitely give enough pigmentation without needing to go through the same spot twice. That is impressive even for donut, a lighter shade.

Donut is a hot coral. Because it is vibrant and in your face coral. This is definitely a summer and spring shade. On the other hand, bumble is a very wearable terracotta shade, I would say it has just the right proportion of red and brown and I love this so much!

When dried, donut looks extremely pleasing and bumble leans toward brown in the swatches.
However, on me the two shades fare a bit more differently due to the difference in my skin tone and also due to the pigmentation on my lips.

Here is how donut looks like on my lips. Because it is ultra matte, application has to be fast before it dries up. Sorry it looks extra patchy on my lips because I wipe off the previous swatch before doing Donut. The ultra matte consistency accentuate alot of my lip line however, it is light on my lips and does not dry out my lips further.

The Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in Donut is really really really coral. In fact, it is so vibrant that it made me look two shades darker! I don't like how this looks on me though.

Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in Bumble is a beautiful shade. BEAUTIFUL on my lips, you hear me?
On my lips it looks more red/pink than brown. Either way, Bumble is my favorite shade so much that I bought two of them. Again, my lip lines were accentuated but this didn't affect me too much.

Both Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip wore well for eight hours without fading. However, oily food does cause the colour to wear off so you will need a touch up if you do so. The formula is smooth and pigmented and one swipe is enough so go easy on it! I found that layering it on may make it patchy and flaky at times but it goes on and dries smoothly if you only use one coat.

I have extra dry lips in general, but this does not cause extra dryness or even cause unsightly flaking while wearing the ultra matte lip so full points to that. This is so comfortable and light that I have being using Bumble every day.

If you are a sucker for packaging, be careful when bringing it out because the silver band and holographic prints are prone to scratches making it unsightly. Thus, I always have a backup of bumble. I would kill if they discontinued this shade.

As for Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in Donut, my sister is totally rocking that color! :x
All in all, there are a lot of pinks and a lot of beautiful and wearable purple as well as slightly quirkier colours. You can check them out on Colourpop website or even head over to Carousell to score yourself one of these. I like the formulation but I am looking forward to the day when they make a more berry shade or even a marsala (red-orange rust) shade because marsala is the pantone colour of the year.
