#418; Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow! - Petal

Hello! It's being a long time since I've updated but I am glad to announced that I am finally done with all my finals and that means...more time on hand to devote to this blog! It has honestly been a tough year full of ups and downs and many breakdowns along the way. And now that all this drama is over, it has been surreal to finally start searching for a job and literally: "get my shit together"

Anyway, I digress.

Today's main attraction would be Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Brightening Makeup. I always pass by the Benefit spot in Sephora and think that "Oh, I must definitely try this!" but never did because it had quite a hefty price tag. So as always, I took to Carousell to buy myself a tiny sample before I actually committed to buying the full size. I wouldn't want to break out and break down because I spent so much...righttt?

I chose the shade in Petal and it suited me perfectly. There are about 9 shades so do drop by to test them out before you buy! Or just use my method *wink wink*

Inside the cute packaging, you will get a 15-hour primer which I haven't touched. Plus the Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow foundation.

The Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow came in a sleek plastic bottle with a white cap.
Because it is plastic, it is very light and easy to bring along. Much better and practical than foundations kept in glass bottle *hint MAC Cosmetics*

The foundation is dispensed via a pump so extra points for hygiene.
It is easy to dispense the foundation and you can control the amount you want to use, reducing wastage.

The formula of the Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow is touted as a brightening and oil-free liquid foundation. Usually, I would steer clear of liquid foundation because I was always under the belief that they make your makeup look cakey and thick. But I decided to give this a try after reading good reviews about them.

Under normal room lighting.

And under harsh lighting.
The shade petal leans more yellow. I am a NC20 in MAC speech so you can roughly gauge or if you want to play safe, just test it out in stores!

The Benefit Oxygen Wow liquid foundation can be layered on to give more coverage.
It covers the black liquid liner pretty well which means it can probably cover your pimple scars pretty well too!

This is one side of my face without any base.
Can you just gawk at my large pores and super obvious break outs :/

And this is after application of the Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow.
I found that this is a very lightweight formula because it is easily applied and blends well into your face. The liquid foundation lasts all day and doesn't make my T-zone extra oily or breaks me out. The only qualms that I have about it, is that because of the humid weather, the foundation sometimes appear a bit cakey on my nose.

Otherwise, everything is pretty good about this. This would be a light to medium coverage and I truly like the formula. It makes my face appear more flawless and I can take better selfies without needing touch up :x

As for its claim that it will make your face "brighter".
I think that this does give my face radiance. I have been using this for almost 3 months and I will personally say that I love this enough to repurchase once I run out.

The cakey nose part, I can overlook because I usually bring my powder to touch up for a matte look.
Perhaps, if I had to try a new foundation, I would try out the Too Faced Born This Way foundation. Do you have both or any of the brands I've mentioned? Or even a cheaper alternative?

I would love to test them out so get in touch with me! Leave me a comment down below~
