#420; LA Girl Matte Flat Finish Pigment Gloss - Bazaar

Every makeup brand has been obsessing over liquid lipstick and I decided to pick out this pretty popular one from L.A. Girl. This is their Matte Flat Finish Pigment Gloss (what a mouthful) although it is commonly referred to as the L.A. Girl Matte Lip. So that's how I will be referring to it throughout this post.

This can be bought through Carousell for about SGD$11 or if you see those makeup/Watsons fair around, you can get this at SGD$11.90.

I picked out the shade Bazaar. It was hard to pick out a shade from the 16 very wearable shades. Most of the shades also look eerily similar in their packaging with only a slight variation.
However, I was in my pinks and nude shades phase so I decided to pick out this shade.

This comes in a small plastic tube with a clear body and pretty attractive packaging design. The matte top is pretty sturdy and the applicator is the good ole' doe foot one, which all liquid lipsticks are famed for.

Even though the L.A. Girl Matte Lip is touted as a "gloss". It dries completely matte upon application.

First swatch. This looks a mix between a muted pink coral with hints of brown.
Already, I am looking forward to trying this out because it looks like a wearable shade for everyday.

It dries matte and the browns in it is much more obvious. Overall, it is a shade that I would appreciate having loveeee Colourpop Bumble.

Like always my lips are very pigmented and so sheer colours never ever do work on me. However liquid lipstick are very pigmented and a life saver because I don't have to go over my lips again and again to get the colour to show up.

With all matte liquid lipstick, the L.A. Girl Matte Flat Finish Pigment Gloss in Bazaar emphasizes my lip lines. Under harsh room lighting, this appears more pink coral almost reminiscent of Colourpop Donut. However, this is more muted and better suited for daily use than the latter.

Under normal room lighting, this appears a very wearable and beautiful shade. It does not look at all brown and in fact just a solid pink coral.
The swatches you see online are way different from the swatches on me. I think that it might be because of the differences in lip pigmentation so do check out different swatches online before deciding! :D

This dries completely matte and hardly transfer except when taking oily food.
However, there is one major downside that I have to point out. I am not sure if this was my batch only or the formulation of the L.A. Girl Matte lip.
After food, if I press my lips together, the bottom or top part would "peel" off and result in flaky and patchy lip. NOT ATTRACTIVE.

I find that reapplication and touch up will not help at all and it would just look tacky which is why I delegated this lipstick to "nearby malls" and not the "to town" look.

I might try other shades but for the price point and the major setback with using this liquid lipstick, I would rather pay a bit more to get Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip/ They do not transfer and are not tacky at all. However, I find that the L.A. Girl Matte Lip has a lot of wearable shades including the most wearable shades of purple while Colourpop colour selection may be a bit on the wild side at times.

What are your thoughts? Should I try out more shades or give it a miss?
