#428; [Review] Carli Bybel Eyeshadow & Highlight Palette

The BH Cosmetics Carli Bybel Eyeshadow & Highlighter Palette has been getting a lot of good reviews and been on a lot of girls' wishlist. I finally caved in and gotten a hold of one for myself because I was travelling and wanted a lightweight palette with all my favorite colours.

The Carli Bybel palette comes in a white cardboard packaging with a magnetic clasp. The whole palette looks lush and the lettering is a reflective one. The total weight is seen as 47.6g and because of the material of the packaging, it is lighter than my Urban Decay Naked 3 palette, making it ideal for travel.

Upon opening the Carli Bybel palette, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it has a sizeable mirror and a quote beneath it "Aspire to Inspire", What amazing words to live by!
The magnetic clasp is pretty strong and the palette remains tightly shut even when I put it in my travel bag.

There is a plastic layer to protect the eyeshadows and highlighters from messing up the mirror which is awesome. Inside the palette, there are 14 eyeshadows and highlight shade. But more specifically, ten eyeshadows and four large highlight pans.

Although the highlights could also double up as eyeshadow shades! And can we talk about how beautiful the highlight pans are?! They are embossed with a beautiful floral print and I was almost reluctant to use it.

There are no names for the various eyeshadow shades thus I swatched them from left to right in the palette for each row.
Starting from the innermost right, the palette consists of a matte beige shade, a peachy rose gold glitter, a taupe brown, a plum shade, a dark purple shade.
The second row consists of a light brown glitter shade, a gold with brown tone glitter shade, a solid brown glitter shade, a copper glitter shade and a dark chocolate glitter shade.

The Carli Bybel Eyeshadow and Highlight Palette has a good mix of four matte shades and six glitter shades. The first row leans towards a cooler tone look and it's the first time I am experimenting with purple, or rather plum shades.
The second row leans towards a warmer look which is what I am most comfortable with and I love how pigmented all the shades are. Although the matte shades are a bit powdery when swatched, they wear well on the eye.

The highlight shades are also swatched from left to right of the palette.
The first is a white based highlight, the second is a rose gold tone highlight, the third shade is a copper brown highlight while the last is a solid chocolate highlight.

I find that I reach for the white based highlight the most because it gives a pearly effect when use. While the rose gold tone highlight is a bit warm on my face and I use it only to highlight the bridge of my nose. The two other highlight shades are best reserved for warmer to darker skin tone although I would still use it as an eyeshadow shade to maximise the use of this palette.

Using the Carli Bybel Eyeshadow Palette, I created three different eyelook.
This was my first rose gold eyelook that brightens your eye and looks absolutely gorgeous for an everyday look.

It makes your eye look bigger and I really love this look.

The second look is a warm copper brown look that is my go-to look. This is the look that I wear often although I had a lot of fall out with the glitter shades used for this look. Even my Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer does nothing to mitigate this problem! :o

Nevertheless, I still love this look.

The last look is a purple sultry smokey look that looks amazing for a nights out! I love this look the most even though I had to work with colours that I have never used before.

Yas, this is definitely my favorite eyelook to wear out of the three.

Overall, the Carli Bybel Eyeshadow and Highlight Palette is a beautiful and versatile palette to have. The selection of eyeshadow and highlight shades are well thought of and would definitely suit most skin type if not all! This has definitely make it into my repurchase list and you can get this from Carousell at SGD$30 or so or if you are buying in bulk, the official BH Cosmetics Website!
