#437; [Review] Colourpop Ultra Satin Lips in Echo Park

By this time, there are soooo many reviews on the Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip. In case you guys are still kept in the dark, the Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip line is supposed to be the solution to matte lip without being "ultra dry". Like their sister, the Ultra Matte Lip, this is packaged in a clear tube with a silver cap and holographic print. The print on my tube of Ultra Satin Lip has already faded with repeated use.

Other than the formula of the lip product, there is little to no discernible changes to the applicator or even packaging.

Echo Park is described on Colourpop website as a "warm peachy nude". I find that with the ultra matte lips, nude colours or colours that everyone scream and swear that it will "suit every skin tone" just doesn't cut it for me. Or maybe I am just seriously out of my comfort zone.

Echo Park is the first colour that I have which is close to what I call the perfect nude. I don't really have much nude lip colours because I feel that it drains the colour from your face and make you look sickly. The ones that I have are slightly pink and warmer in tone because I have more of a cool toned complexion.

Swatching it on my hand, it comes off as what is described on the Colourpop website. A beautiful nude peachy tone that looks absolutely gorgeous. Because I was unsure about the formulation and how well they will actually perform, I only bought one and decided to place my bet on Echo Park for that beautiful colour, suitable for work. Also because it looks similar to the much more famous Kylie Lip Kits.

On my lips.
Here is what I thought about them, they apply on very smooth and pigmented and are as pigmented as the Colourpop Ultra Matte Lips, They do accentuate my lip lines but that is because I have very chapped lips. They are very creamy and reminds me a little of the Ofra Liquid Lipstick formulation.

Because of the creamy satin finish and formula, they do not dry totally matte and are prone to smudges and lipstick stains on cups and mugs. But for the formulation, these have great wear time and I find myself reaching to reapply this lipstick only after a heavy meal.

I find that the colour is absolutely flattering and matches just about any eye look that I can possibly think of. Most of the time, I do my makeup around the lip colour that I will be using but with Echo Park, I can go crazy with my eye makeup or just go for a simple makeup and still rock the shade.

I like that it doesn't dry out my lips further and is easy to work with. If you love that matte lip look but do not like the dry chapped feeling that comes with it, then the Ultra Matte Satin lip line may be your best bet.

The only flaw? This has a very buttery smell which I didn't like at all. I don't know if it is just me but this just smells so buttery and I just hate the scent.

Because of the fact that it is non-drying, easy to work with and the most favourite nude lips that I have been wearing for so many consecutive days, I can look past the scent factor.
I really love the Echo Park shade and will definitely be repurchasing this when I run out. The next shade in the line that tickles my fancy is "Lyin' King"! I will definitely buy that when I restock on my Echo Park!

What are the shades that you are drawn to? I would love to hear from you!
